How do I get repair estimates if my car is not driveable? One of our neighbors backed into the front end of our car and did massive damage. Our car was parked and we were inside our home. We are having a lot of problems with the other peoples insurance company. They sent us a letter to forward them 2 repair estimates along with pictures of the damage. The car is not driveable because the hood cant be latched and the radiator is busted. How do get the estimates requested without having to pay towing fees out of our pocket? We live in Central Illinois if that helps and this is our first claim ever so we are not sure of what to do. OK we have spoken with our insurance company. According to them we either to have to pay for everything up front and save the reciepts and hope the other insurance company reimburses us or we can file the claim on our insurance. We don't really want to file the claim with our insurance and even if we do, we will still have to pay the up front charges out of our pocket and wait for the settlement. Sorry, but none of this so far has been any help. Someone PLEASE give me some good advice There was a police report. I know that the insurance should pay back any of our out of pocket expenses, buy we have already had to pay out of pocket for a rental car because the laws here suck, and with four kids we are not able to keep paying out of pocket for all of this stuff.
How do I get the guys who did the furnace estimates to stop calling? My furnace started acting up in March, so I decided I should get 3 or 4 estimates and put a new one in. Thats before my medical problems started. I am having an exploratory surgery here before too long. I keep getting phone calls from the guys who did the estimates and as much as I would like for my furnace to be put in before cold weather, it will have to wait until August or September. Should I just tell em to quit bugging me?
How do I go about proving that estimates and repairs to damage done in a rental property were necessary? Water damage has been done to a landlord's property by a tenant with no insurance;the landlord has filed a claim and now the tenant is held responsible for the total cost of the repairs done to the property. There is doubt whether the estimates and repairs were necessary to the amount of damage done. The tenant needs to prove that the repairs were over and above what was necessary and doesn't want to get stuck with paying back an overblown amount of money.
What is the best program to help manage estimates and customers.? I own a buisness that builds custom garage doors. Builders fax me drawings or pictures and we send back detailed estimates. I want a program I can save detailed estimates for future use instead of always re-entering almost the same data. I currently just cut and paste which leaves more room for mistakes. I would also like to be able to scan pictures, Estimates, final invoices, job measurements ect.... into customer folders to help organize our customers better. Is there a program out there that fits that description? Quick Books is good but only for the numbers part of it not the organizational side.
How to test for differences between estimates with error? I used a model to estimate values and their error. Now I want to test if there is a difference between two groups of these values. I treated them like a normal, measured value for which I don't know the error and just used a t-test. However, I don't think this is the correct way to test for differences since the values are just estimates and not actual measurements. Any help would be appreciated.
When planning a remodel how far out should you get estimates? I am doing a bathroom remodel and have already talked to a contractor for a general ball park. I am a property manager so I have a good relationship with several contractors. I expect to have the money in Sept. It is a big job and will require permits. When should I start getting firm estimates? That does not help! Don't bother answering if you are just going to make a stupid comment. Nope- In Oregon, sorry.
Are there any estimates available for murders per capita over the course of human history? I sometimes wonder in what ways we are really progressing as a species. Some are pretty clear, I see life-span estimates all the time, but I wonder if anyone has tried to measure the level of suffering we have inflicted on each other over time. For this question, we could say it's just war, murder, execution, one human killing another on purpose. I am generally curious about historical estimates of this type if anyone knows where to look for such information.
How many estimates should I get? My flat roof needs repairing, and was wondering how many estimates should I get? How do I decide which one? Are there any sites which recommend decent traders and not cowboys?
How accurate are the baby ultrasound estimates? How accurate are the ultrasound estimates? Yesterday I had my 38th week ultrasound (I'm having a baby boy) and they said he would be about 8 ponds and it's possible to put on a little more weight until the due date. But they said it was just an estimate. How accurate are these ultrasound measurements?
Where can I find the best FREE instruction about Home Remodeling and preparing estimates for bids? I need to learn ASAP everything I can about Home Remodeling and Improvements. Especially Sunrooms, construction, design, how to build, prepare estimates. Also need a EASY BEGINNER FREE package to use on computer, like Four Seasons Sunrooms give their sales reps. Can go out and take a digital picture, then somehow transfer it to your computer, the home comes up and you can design the sunroom right there to see what the home will look like with a sunroom on it.
Why do we only have 10 days to get our inspection/estimates done? We bought a house and they are giving us only 10 days to get our estimates done for this house. We have to present them to the seller by Thursday and have this done or the contract is null/void. Why is this? It has been almost impossible for us to get contractors there in this amount of time to give us estimates. What options do we have to get an extension?
If I provide the person who damaged my vehicle with 3 estimates, what should happen? I also live in California. A. Do they get to pick and choose what estimate they get to pay me? I have heard they have to pay the median of the 3 estimates I provide. B. Can they write the check directly out to the body shop or do they have to write a check to me and I get to take it wherever I please to have it fixed? C. Do they have to also provide for a comparable rental car while my car is in the shop being fixed for the amount of time it takes to get fixed? Thanks for all the help out there.
What are some VERY general estimates of film costs? I have to do a movie project for a high school class and it requires a budget breakdown. I was wondering if anyone knew how much a crew costs, how much cgi costs, and how much studio space costs (you can base estimates on other movies). General estimates are more than sufficient. Also, please, if you provide an answer can you site your source or at least your name so I can give you credit? Thanks!
Where can I find the best data/estimates for spot forex volume? I'm sure we've all seen the estimates/data that so many billion (think it may have been one trillion, actually) go through London every day, and approximately 30% of that is on the EUR/USD during those times. Where can I find the most accurate (or most likely to be) and most comprehensive figures on these (hopefully several currencies averages by hour frames would be ideal). Thanks for your help!
Are there any estimates on turnout percentages for the election? This was supposed to be one of the largest turnouts in history. Any word yet on estimates? I've not seen anything in the morning papers yet. jacjoyce - thanks for not even trying to answer the question. Is your time better spent giving non-answers? Go pound sand.
When someone has different estimates for damage done? Who decides on which one to pick? I scratched a ladys car, she has 3 different estimates, all within $25-$50 of each other, who decides on which one to use? Or just the middle one? Is it OK to pay by check? I know checks are better because of the canceled check the bank has as proof of cashing. But i don't want her to know my full name and address, she might try to sue me when she finds out the car wasn't insured. I was thinking of paying with cash or money order, she doesn't know exactly where I live or even my full name. The car wasn't mine, it's my dads, I move it from one side of the street to the other since he is in the hospital. I don't think his insurance is up to date. The car was parked you moron. I wouldn't drive it on the street, I just moved it from one side to the other. Stop with your moral opinion.
I want to waterproof my basement and had four different estimates. Which one is best for me? Part of my basement is wet (not flooding) after it rains for a long period of time. I wanted to solve this problem so i called up four different waterproofers. 1st one said that they will put piping and tubes around the floor where the water seems to be. He said the pump is not necesssary because theres not much water. He is going to charge $695 with 2 years warranty. 2nd one said that he was going to remove sheet rock to see if there is a crack in the foundation wall, and if there is, he is going to seal it. He is charging $750 for it. 3rd one said that he was going to kill the molds and put pipes and pump. He offered life-time warranty for it. But he's charging us $6500. 4th one said said he was going to put pipes and pump along the whole side of a wall. He is charging $3500 with 10 years guarantee. After these four estimates, i don't know which one to work with. Please give me any advise or suggestions and I will greatly appreciate it. Thank You!
I need builders' estimates, but how accurate is the quote? My roof has reached the end of its natural life, so I asked some roofing contractors for their free estimates. Their quotes vary. When they begin the actual work, will the price be the same? Does anyone have any experience in this matter? I need to set aside some money for the reroofing work, but I'm not sure if the builders' quote will be accurate.
Graphic Design /Art Direction Freelance rates? How are you coming up with your estimates? I've been a professional print designer for 10+ years. Retouching, Packaging etc.. mostly for larger companies. I rarely do freelance and when I have I've low-balled myself. What are you charging and how are you figuring out how long something might take. For instance, I want to charge $75 (design) $45 (production). However I'm quick and don't want to charge less than I deserve. How are you out there coming up with your estimates?
Why are my house insurance estimates so high? We're buying our first house & our mortgage guy estimated our costs for house insurance should be $400-500. We've gotten two estimates & they were $730 & $775. What could be driving up the costs that none of us expected? The home was built in 1920, has wood siding, & is in city limits (near hydrants). The only other factors I can think that may raise the price are the fact that the fire station is on the other side of the rail road tracks, the fact the home is situated on a State Route/high traffic road, & close to a bar... Or is there somthing more?
Is there a way to get estimates online for lumber from stores like Home Depot, Kent, Lowes etc in Canada? I need to buy some plywood to do a subfloor and was wondering if there was a way to get estimates online? Thank you tamarack58: all that I meant is that I wanted to know if I could find out the cost to buy plywood based on the amount that I need. Or how much plywood costs per sheet for 1/2" or 3/4" thickness. I have an area to cover that is 11'x4' wanted to know if there was a site that could give me the price of that.
